The old zoo
I've had a blog once before. A real world blog with three dimensions, open to the public and fueled by the public. It was in an old lion arena in the overgrown garden of Cecil John Rhodes at the base of Devil's peak. The idea was for people to put up whatever scraps they wanted onto the walls. People got really into it for a while and the energy was great, with people sticking up stuff all over the show. Some of the stuff was good, some not, but it felt good to be doing something. Over time more and more people heard about the place and people started leaving litter lying around and painting onto the antique brick walls. The atmosphere changed and one night I decided that I couldn't go back. I always knew the idea would spin like a top, gracefully at first, but then wobbling at increasingly alarming angles as the weight of it begins to pull it off center until it eventually succumbs to the undying force of gravity. So be it.
